Recently, in the 18th Shandong Provincial Vocational College Skills Competition, teachers and students from the School of Information Engineering and Technology of the college performed brilliantly in three tracks, winning a total of one Gold Award and two Silver Awards.

In the Artificial Intelligence (AI) Track for the Higher Vocational Group, the team composed of students Cao Shijia, Wang Lianhe, Luan Xinda and Zou Jiazhu, under the guidance of teachers Liu Xiaoxia and Ding Jixiang, demonstrated excellent teamwork and fighting spirit, and won the Gold Award by ranking first in their parallel group.

The competition content was closely designed around the practical skill requirements of AI-related industry positions, integrating technologies such as machine learning algorithms, multi-modal fusion and in-depth large model applications to systematically solve industry management and service problems.

As a newly added track in this year’s provincial competition, the AI Track comprehensively assessed participants’ overall qualities, including AI application knowledge, professional ethics, teamwork and craftsmanship spirit.

In the New Generation Information Technology Track, the team guided by teachers Zhan Xiaofei and Song Zhipeng, with members Ren Jiaxin, Tan Bowen, Liu Chang and Wang Qingyuan, secured the second place in their parallel group and won the Silver Award by virtue of solid technical skills and tacit teamwork.

The competition highlighted the innovative application of new generation information technology in industry integration, showcasing remarkable cultural value and market application prospects, and fully demonstrating participants’ technical proficiency, innovative thinking, professional literacy and comprehensive ability to solve practical problems.

In the Electronic & Electrical Appliances and Integrated Circuits Track, the team consisting of students Zhao Xiaojing, Han Guoqing, Yu Mingshuo and Yang Pengli, coached by teachers Guo Jinqian and Wu Yongzhuo, achieved the third place in their parallel group and claimed the Silver Award with their capability in the integrated application of IoT sensing technology, network transmission technology and digital twin technology.

Focusing on core fields such as intelligent operation and maintenance of electronic & electrical equipment, collaborative design of integrated circuits and IoT system integration, this track comprehensively evaluated participants’ technical application ability, hands-on operation skills, troubleshooting level and team coordination competence.

During the preparation stage, the leaders made systematic planning and overall arrangements, mobilized high-quality competition resources across the college, and established a tripartite collaborative mechanism integrating industry experts, professional coaches and functional support teams, laying a solid foundation for the competition participation.

Taking this competition as a new starting point, the School of Information Engineering and Technology will strive to build a long-term mechanism featuring integration of competition and teaching, standard alignment, joint talent cultivation and achievement sharing. It will promote the synchronous development of competition standards and industry norms, teaching systems and industrial demands, as well as competency training and job requirements, so as to continuously improve the quality of high-skilled talent cultivation.
