The college held an appointment ceremony in the meeting room of the Administrative Building on December 8, appointing Shan Yun, Announcement Director of Qingdao Radio and Television Station, as a Distinguished Professor.
Diao Hongbin, Party Secretary of the college, attended the ceremony, presented the letter of appointment to Shan Yun, and extended a warm welcome on behalf of the college. He expressed anticipation for in-depth cooperation between the two parties in fields such as language and literature, journalism and communication, which will inject new impetus into the college’s faculty development, academic research and program advancement, driving the college’s high-quality development.
Shan Yun thanked the college for its trust and stated that she would give full play to her professional advantages and industry influence to contribute actively to improving teachers’ and students’ language literacy, building practical platforms, and supporting news publicity. He also looked forward to further advancing cooperation and exchanges between the two sides in the future.
Following the appointment ceremony, Professor Shan Yun delivered a special lecture titled Voice as a Medium, Words as a Bridge — Talking to College Students About Language Literacy and the Path to Growth. Combining his rich experience in broadcasting and hosting practice with teaching cases, he elaborated on the importance of language ability for consolidating professional foundations, improving communication efficiency and shaping personal image from the perspective of students’ career development needs. He encouraged young students to convey ideas and connect with others through accurate and appropriate language, broaden their life horizons in language learning and application, and achieve mutual improvement of literacy and personal growth.
During the lecture, Professor Shan Yun, together with Yu Youpeng from the Basic Teaching Department, provided on-site guidance and pronunciation demonstrations for five students — Wang Ziying, Xu Xiaojie, Jia Huidi, Li Jindong and Shu Yuanle — on their news reading, recitation and speech works.
In addition, Professor Shan Yun held a discussion with teachers from the Chinese Teaching and Research Office of the Basic Teaching Department, conducting in-depth exchanges on curriculum construction, teaching research and social services. The teachers stated that they would take this cooperation as an opportunity to further optimize curriculum design and enhance their teaching and research capabilities.
