The appointment ceremony of Professor Zhang Zhen—second-level professor from Zhengzhou University—as Distinguished Professor was held in the meeting room of the Administration Building on November 13th.
Han Xiqing, President of the college, attended the ceremony and awarded the Distinguished Professor appointment letter to Professor Zhang Zhen, extending a warm welcome and sincere gratitude for his acceptance of the position. He affirmed and commended Professor Zhang’s outstanding achievements and extensive influence in his research field, expressing expectations for in-depth cooperation between the two parties in areas such as intelligent technology and professional digital transformation. This collaboration is poised to provide strong support for our faculty development, scientific research, and program advancement, thereby fostering our high-quality development.
Professor Zhang Zhen stated that he would do his utmost to leverage his professional strengths and influence in future work. He pledged to support the college in specialty cluster development, research platform construction, skill competitions, and talent cultivation, contributing to our overall development.
Following the appointment ceremony, Professor Zhang delivered a lecture titled Public Security Video Image Technology and Its Applications as part of the Hismile Forum, addressing faculty and students from the School of Hotel Engineering. Starting with the basic principles of public security video image technology, he elaborated on the cutting-edge trends in intelligent construction, systematically explained the applications of advanced technologies such as public security behavior recognition and artificial intelligence, and analyzed the practical value of these technologies in scenarios like smart buildings and hotel security through rich case studies. Closely aligned with the future professional scenarios of the School’s relevant programs, the lecture expanded students’ knowledge horizons and injected new momentum into their academic pursuits.
About Professor Zhang Zhen
Professor Zhang Zhen is a second-level professor and doctoral supervisor at Zhengzhou University, serving as Vice President of the Zhengzhou University Public Security Research Institute and Deputy Director of the National Engineering Laboratory for Big Data Collaborative Security Technology. He is recognized as a High-Level Talent of Henan Province, a returned scholar sponsored by the National Study Abroad Program, a Core Teacher of Henan Province, an Academic and Technical Leader of the Henan Provincial Department of Education, and an Outstanding Graduate Supervisor of Zhengzhou University.
