Our faculty and students participate in activities at China International Fisheries Expo

The 28th China International Fisheries Expo was held in Qingdao from October 29 to 31, hosted by the Agricultural Trade Promotion Center of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, .

Faculty and students from the School of Culinary Arts of the college were invited to participate in activities organized by the Canadian Pavilion.

During the expo, our team set up an exclusive culinary demonstration area, showcasing on-site dish preparation. They took full responsibility for the research and development as well as on-site promotion of Canadian seafood dishes, introducing these products to Chinese and international audiences through tastings and cooking technique explanations.

Marie-Claude Bibeau, Minister of Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada, visited the booth, participated in the cooking session, and collaborated with Jiang Yuntao, a teacher from our Western Cuisine Technology program, to prepare several dishes. He highly praised the featured dishes developed by the college.

He stated that this dish R&D and production activity helped more Chinese consumers appreciate the unique charm of Canadian seafood and built a delicious bridge for China-Canada fisheries trade cooperation.

As a world-leading aquatic products trade event, this years expo attracted 1,562 enterprises from 47 countries and regions, along with over 20,000 professional visitors from 113 countries and regions for visits and negotiations.

The exhibits covered the entire industrial chain, including marine products, seeds and feed, aquaculture and processing, technical equipment, and cold chain logistics, demonstrating the great potential of Chinas fisheries sector to share development and promote cooperation with the world.

The college will continue to adhere to the principles of mutual learning and win-win cooperation, expand the breadth and depth of international exchanges, actively showcase the achievements in the construction of our catering-related programs, and effectively enhance our reputation and international influence.
