The High-Quality Development Conference celebrating the 80th anniversary of the school's founding was grandly held in the gymnasium on October 28. All faculty, staff, students, alumni at home and abroad, and people from all walks of life who care about and support the college's construction and development gathered online and offline to jointly witness the college's 80 years of glory.
Diao Hongbin, Secretary of the Party Committee of the college, presided over the conference and extended a warm welcome and sincere gratitude to the leaders and guests attending the conference on behalf of the school. He summarized and reviewed the college's 80-year development course and school-running experience, and gathered wisdom and strength for systematically planning the high-quality development of the college during the 15th Five-Year Plan period and even a longer period.
At 9 a.m., the conference officially kicked off with the solemn national anthem. All participants jointly watched the college's 80th anniversary theme promotional video Steps · Glory - The 80-Year Struggle Road.
With the title Marching Together for 80 Years and Creating the Future Together - Striving to Build an Undergraduate Vocational Education Institution and Forge a Cradle of Professional Talents in China's Hotel Industry, Diao Hongbin delivered a report on the college's career development, reviewing the school's 80-year glorious history and the development achievements made in recent years.
Guan Enwen, on behalf of the Shandong Provincial Department of Education, delivered a speech. He pointed out that it is hoped that the college will take the 80th anniversary of its founding as an opportunity to bravely undertake new missions and show new achievements, adhere to moral education and foster talents to consolidate the foundation of talent cultivation; deepen connotative development to improve the quality of school running; strengthen industry-education integration to enhance service capabilities; promote digital transformation to empower teaching innovation; and expand opening-up to raise international influence.
Zhang Hongdong, on behalf of Lushan Group, delivered a speech. He hoped that the college will take the 80th anniversary celebration as a new starting point, bravely assume the mission of the times, adhere to the original aspiration of moral education and talent cultivation, and accurately grasp the new situation, new tasks and new requirements of vocational education development, unswervingly take the path of characteristic development, innovative development and high-quality development. The college should strive to cultivate more high-quality technical and skilled talents, craftsmen and great masters, and make new and greater contributions to the development of modern vocational education and accelerating the construction of a powerful education country.
Deng Yingying, as the representative of fraternal colleges and universities, delivered a speech. She pointed out that the college has always adhered to the original aspiration of cultivating talents for the Party and the country, rooted in the fertile soil of Shandong culture, deeply engaged in hotel management and modern service industry, and cultivated tens of thousands of management talents. The college has led the development as a pioneer, contributed the influential QVTCHM Program to the modern service industry, set up a characteristic banner for talent cultivation in the hotel industry, and has become a time-honored brand and pacesetter in the field of hotel management vocational education.
Blessings from alumni at home and abroad and cooperative enterprises arrived warmly, gathering a powerful force to promote the college's development. The alumni service system was officially launched under the attention and witness, marking that the connection between the alma mater and alumni has entered a more close and convenient new stage.
In the Alumni Stories session, alumni of several generations affectionately reviewed their campus years with simple words, told their struggle stories of perseverance and hard work, and vividly interpreted the mission and responsibility passed down from generation to generation over 80 years.
In their sonorous and powerful speeches, the representatives of teachers and students took the name of youth to take an oath and clarified their aspirations with the heart of teachers, expressing their deep praise for the college and firm belief in the future journey, and showing the spiritual outlook of the new generation who care about the major issues of the country and move forward courageously.
