The college hosted the 2nd Hei Weiyu Scholarship Award Ceremony on October 22nd.
In his speech, Diao Hongbin, Secretary of the Party Committee of the college, extended sincere gratitude to Master Hei Weiyu and heartfelt congratulations to the 20 students who won the scholarship.
He noted that as the only catering industry professional in Shandong Province honored with the title of Taishan Industry Leading Talent, Master Hei Weiyu has played a positive role in effectively improving the quality of catering talent training at the college since being appointed as a visiting professor. The establishment and issuance of the Hei Weiyu Scholarship fully demonstrates Master Hei Weiyu's sense of social responsibility in caring for and supporting the training of catering industry talents, highlights the noble mission and feelings of leading talents in the industry, and inspires more outstanding students of the college to engage in the development of the catering industry.
Hei Weiyu and Diao Hongbin jointly presented the scholarships to the students.
Master Hei Weiyu also donated a training fund for the 2026 WorldSkills Competition for Vocational College Students to the School of Culinary Arts.
Han Xiqing, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, read out the Hei Weiyu Scholarship Management Measures and the list of winning students of the 2nd Hei Weiyu Scholarship, and awarded the flag to the Culinary Craftsman Etiquette Performance Team.
Master Hei Weiyu delivered a special lecture entitled Innovation and Development of New Shandong Cuisine: Upholding the Essence of Shandong Flavors and Innovating for the Future. He emphasized that as catering major students, they should inherit and carry forward Shandong cuisine culture through upholding traditions while innovating. It is necessary to actively promote the healthiness, youthfulness and scenario-based development of new Shandong cuisine, and jointly build a new future for Shandong cuisine.
The college will actively connect with and strictly supervise the charitable acts of industry and enterprise experts, ensure the reasonable distribution of the scholarship, stimulate the motivation for students' professional learning, and strive to cultivate more high-quality technical and skilled talents who meet the development needs of the catering industry.

Hei Weiyu is a Taishan Industry Leading Talent, President of Shandong Hotel Association, Deputy General Manager of Jinan Shungeng Villa Group, and Chairman of Shungeng Villa Hotel Management Company.
The Hei Weiyu Scholarship, fully funded by Master Hei Weiyu since 2024, is designed to reward outstanding catering major students with excellent academic performance and exceptional professional skills.
