On October 20, the topping-out ceremony for the main structure of the canteen—the first standalone building in Phase I of the college's Oceantec Valley Campus construction project—was held at the campus site.

Diao Hongbin, Secretary of the college Party Committee, attended the ceremony and participated in the pouring of the capping concrete. He emphasized that the construction of Oceantec Valley Campus is a crucial step for the college to further strengthen connotative development and upgrade to an undergraduate vocational education institution. Since the tendering for the project kicked off in November 2024, all preliminary procedures including land planning and construction permits have been successfully completed.

The smooth topping-out of this building serves as a tribute to the college's 80th anniversary and marks a new phase in the construction process. Subsequent standalone structures such as teaching and training buildings and student dormitories will sequentially enter the main structure construction stage. Taking this opportunity, the college will further deepen the integration of production and education, steadily advance the project construction, and ensure the Oceantec Valley Campus is put into use as scheduled. It will strive to cultivate high-quality technical and skilled talents for the marine economy and cultural tourism industry in Blue Valley.

About the College's Blue Valley Campus

As a key project of Shandong Province in 2025, the Oceantec Valley Campus closely aligns with the regional positioning of a Marine Science City. It focuses on emerging industries including hot spring health and wellness, cultural tourism, and smart hotels, forming a complementary pattern of academic research + vocational skills with institutions such as Shandong University's Qingdao Campus. This will help Oceantec Valley build a highland for marine science and education innovation and fill the gap in applied vocational education in Qingdao Oceantec Valley.

Phase I of the Oceantec Valley Campus has a total investment of 1.314 billion yuan and a total construction area of 135,000 square meters. It includes core functional areas such as an integrated teaching and training building, a library, student dormitories, an administrative center, and Canteen No. 1. Among them, Canteen No. 1 covers a construction area of 6,038.9 square meters with a three-story structure, capable of accommodating over 4,000 teachers and students for dining simultaneously. In the future, an intelligent catering system will be introduced to create a green, energy-saving, and modern campus service space.
