GrGreat Achievements at 2025 Belt and Road & BRICS Skills Development and Technological Innovation Competition

The Northern Division of the inaugural Smart Cultural Tourism Product Design and Marketing event of the 2025 Belt and Road & BRICS Skills Development and Technological Innovation Competition was held from October 17 to 19.

The team consisting of Gao Hongyang, Gao Yuxin, Mi Yiran from the School of Culture and Tourism and LIU CANDICE (international student) claimed the First Prize in the International Group with the highest total score. Another team, composed of Wei Hong, Cheng Zhen, Xu Yawen, and Zhang Lingge, secured the Second Prize in the Higher Vocational Group. Both teams successfully qualified for the National Finals.

Throughout the competition, the two teams demonstrated remarkable proficiency in professional knowledge, acute market insight, and exceptional digital technology application capabilities. They excelled in key segments including smart cultural tourism product design, digital marketing strategy planning, and on-site presentations. Their entries closely aligned with the trends of cultural-tourism integration and intelligent development, skillfully integrating cultural connotations with market demands while leveraging advanced technologies such as big data and virtual reality to empower product design and promotion. These works fully showcased the teams' outstanding integrated innovation and practical abilities, earning unanimous praise from the judging panel.

Centered on the core concept of Intelligence-Led, Creativity-Driven, Marketing-Empowered, the competition focuses on the digital transformation of the cultural tourism industry. It aims to cultivate interdisciplinary cultural tourism talents who master technology, understand the market, possess cultural literacy, and excel in innovation through the integration of posts, courses, competitions, and certificates.

Attracting 60 teams from 15 provinces, autonomous regions, and municipalities directly under the Central Government, the event featured a comprehensive contest that integrated regional culture with cutting-edge technology in the fields of smart cultural tourism product design and digital marketing.

Taking this competition as an opportunity, the School of Culture and Tourism will further optimize its talent training model, vigorously promote the digital reform of its curriculum system and teaching methods, and make every effort to cultivate new-type professional talents who are rooted in cultural tourism heritage, proficient in digital skills, and courageously innovative.
