Two major first-aid competitions-the 2025 3rd Shandong Provincial School First-Aid Knowledge & Skills Competition and the 2025 Qingdao Red Cross Emergency Rescue Competition-concluded successfully on September 26. Student teams from our college delivered standout performances at both events, taking home 3 group first prizes and 6 individual first prizes.
Shandong Provincial Competition: Excelling Among Top Universities
Hosted by the Shandong Provincial Department of Education and Shandong Red Cross Society, the provincial competition centered on the theme “Rescue by Your Side, Youth Leading the Way”. It drew over 280 participants from more than 30 primary/secondary schools and 110 universities across Shandong, making it one of the province’s most competitive school-level first-aid events.
The competition included two stages:
Preliminaries: Focused on core emergency skills—such as Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), managing foreign body airway obstruction, handling common acute illnesses, and treating accidental injuries—with assessments combining written tests (theoretical knowledge) and hands-on practice.
Finals: Used scenario-based stations to evaluate participants’ ability to respond to foreign body airway obstruction and trauma emergencies.
A team led by students Wang Liman and Chen Haoran competed in the highly contested University Group A (Non-Medical Majors). With strong theoretical foundations, precise practical skills, and seamless teamwork, they won first place in the trauma rescue individual event and claimed the Group First Prize (ranking 2nd in overall team scores). Their coach, Li Qiao, was named “Excellent Instructor” for her guidance.
Qingdao Municipal Competition: Making History for Licang District
The Qingdao Red Cross Emergency Rescue Competition was held at the Qingdao Medical Simulation Center, attracting over 200 contestants from local universities, primary/secondary schools, enterprises, and emergency responders from Qingdao’s districts and counties.
The college’s teams shone here too:
A team led by student Liu Xinying competed in the College Student Group. They delivered consistent performances and strong teamwork to win first place in the CPR individual event and took home the Group First Prize.
Another team, led by student Zhang Aohan, represented Licang District in the Emergency Responder Special Competition. They won the championship, marking a historic breakthrough for Licang District in this event.
A Commitment to Life Safety Education
These awards reflect the college’s long-standing focus on life safety education and its efforts to make emergency rescue training accessible to all students. Moving forward, the college will continue to expand emergency rescue programs, foster a campus culture where “Everyone Learns First Aid, First Aid Serves Everyone”, and enhance teachers’ and students’ ability to save themselves and help others—contributing to building a safer campus community.
