Diao Hongbin, Secretary of the Party Committee of the college, and President Jiang Yupeng led members of the school leadership team to the frontline of teaching to conduct an accurate assessment of classroom teaching quality on August 25th, which will continuously consolidate the central position of teaching, ensure the smooth and orderly operation of teaching work in the new semester, and kick off a new chapter of talent cultivation with high-quality classes.
The leaders randomly observed multiple courses across various majors. They paid close attention to the mental state of teachers and students, classroom interaction, the guarantee of teaching equipment, and the teaching environment. They carefully documented the highlights and characteristics of the teaching process, and conducted a comprehensive assessment of teaching design, content mastery, method application, and achievement of teaching effects.
From the overall observation results, the school’s teaching organization was well-positioned with thorough preparations for all work; teachers were well-prepared for their lessons, taught with great enthusiasm, and effectively integrated cutting-edge discipline content and ideological and political elements into their courses; students had a high attendance rate, listened attentively, participated actively in interactions, and the classroom atmosphere was lively; multimedia teaching equipment operated normally, and the teaching environment was clean and orderly. All these reflected the new vitality and positive outlook of teachers and students in the new semester.
During the break between classes, the leaders had cordial exchanges with the teachers. They fully affirmed the teachers’ conscientious teaching attitude, rich teaching content, and innovative teaching methods, and put forward valuable suggestions on how to further optimize classroom teaching and stimulate students’ potential.
They also had friendly conversations with students, inquiring about their study and life during the vacation as well as their expectations for the new semester. They encouraged the students to cherish their time, think diligently and learn well, and quickly adapt to the study and life of the new semester.
Observing classes on the first day of the new semester is an important measure for the school to implement the fundamental task of fostering virtue through education, strengthen the monitoring of teaching quality, tighten teaching management, and deepen teaching reform.
