The 15th National Tourism Colleges Service Skills (Hotel Service) Competition took place from May 15-17 .
Our college's students, Guo Yuxuan, Wang Haiyang, Zhao Yuhang and Zhang Haoran, who are majoring in hotel management and digital operation, won first prize in the group of higher vocational colleges for Chinese banquet table setting, Western banquet table setting, housekeeping service and cocktail making respectively. The college also won first prize in the group and second place overall, achieving the grand slam once again.
The competition was guided by the China Tourism Association, organised by the China Tourism Association Tourism Education Branch and undertaken by Zhengzhou Tourism Vocational College. A total of 185 college and university teams from 28 provinces, and 596 contestants applied for the competition. The competition is divided into three categories: undergraduate colleges, higher vocational colleges, and vocational schools. Each category has four projects: Chinese banquet table setting, Western banquet table setting, housekeeping service and cocktail making. Each project is assessed on its theoretical knowledge, English language proficiency and three-part field operation. The field operation is designed to test students' comprehensive hotel service ability.
The School of Hospitality Management will give full play to the demonstration effect of the results of the competition, and continue to promote the benign cycle of “promoting teaching and learning through competition”, and continuously improve the level of cultivating high-quality technical and skilled talents in the hotel industry.
