The 2024 World Vocational College Skills Competition (WVCSC) Finals “Tourism Track-Study Tour Group” was held in Hangzhou from October 24th to 26th, and our team consisting of four students, Wu Xiaofan, Yang Zihan, Wang Huimin, and Wei Yinghua, won the gold medal with the first place in the group and the second place in the country.
The WVCSC, upgraded from the National Vocational College Skills Competition, is an international vocational college comprehensive skills competition led by the Ministry of Education.
Sponsored by the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, the study tour event is the first national competition of vocational college skills competition, attracting 236 players from 63 higher vocational colleges and universities.
The teams have the rights to choose their own topics and content. We carefully chose the group of “migrant children” and used “archaeology study” as the carrier to deeply excavate the archaeological achievements of the project of exploring the origin of Chinese civilization, and developed the program of “Archaeology in China, Discover Yourself”, which creates a case and brand of archaeology study in China.
After intense and careful polishing by the participating team, it finally stood out in the competition, providing experiences and cases for the national vocational education of study tour.
The achievement of the competition focused on showing the effectiveness of training talents for research and study tour management and service majors in the college, and we’ll cultivate more high-skilled talents who can adapt to the new technological changes and the needs of industrial development.
