The Tour Guide Service Event of the 2023 National Vocational Students Skills Competition was held at Shanghai Institute of Tourism from September 5th to 8th. Li Jinshan won the first prize with an excellent score of second place in total, and Yang Dong was awarded the Excellent Instructor Award.
In this competition, a total of 61 teams from all over the country participated, and the contestants competed fiercely in five stages, including three parts: tour guide literacy and professional ability testing, and tour guide English oral proficiency testing.
The competition takes the tour guide service skills competition as the carrier, integrating the optional explanation of tour guide service, on-site creation and explanation, English speaking, comprehensive knowledge and artistic literacy, connecting with new technologies, industries, formats, and models, and improving the quality of tour guide service talent cultivation.
Li Jinshan from the School of Culture and Tourism showed outstanding performance. The interpretation of the selected tour guide speech Copper Pavilion at Daimiao Temple of Mount Taishan from the perspective of the bronze casting technique wax loss method, and the application of the talent of Badaguan created and adapted by herself, were unanimously recognized by the judges and experts.
The achievement of this competition showcases the achievements of the Double High-level Program construction in tourism management, which is of positive significance for promoting the teaching reform of tour guide service courses in tourism management and cultivating new cultural and tourism skilled talents.
