The finals of the 9th National Hotel Industry Vocational Skills Competition for Western Cuisine Chefs, hosted by the China Hotel Association, was held in Harbin on August 24th. Chen Peng, a teacher from School of Culinary Arts, won the first-place gold medal.
The finals consisted of two sections: on-site practical operation of a Western-style hot dish set menu (with a designated appetizer and a selected main course) and a theoretical knowledge exam. Outstanding representatives from various regional preliminary competitions, company selections, and industry associations across the country showcased their skills and abilities on the same stage. Our teacher achieved excellent results with solid theoretical knowledge, skilled culinary techniques, outstanding technical foundation, and impressive on-site performance.
The awards in this competition fully demonstrate the craftsmanship and excellence of our school's teachers, showcasing the achievements of the Double High-level Program and the reform of education and teaching in culinary majors. This further enhances the college's industry influence.
