The 12th Yunlvtong Cup National Tourism College Service Skills Competition (Tour Guide Service) was successfully held in the college from May 13 to 16. Zhang Chen and Lu zhe won the first prize in the Chinese group, and Liu Shiying and Dong Xinjie won the first prize in the English group. Four teachers such as Jiang Ping, Zhao Deyin, sun Shiliang and Yu Ying won the excellent instructors. The college also won the first prize of the group.
Sponsored by Tourism Education Branch of China Tourism Associationand organized by the college and undertaken by the college, the Competition is a large-scale one with 1035 competitors from 344 schools and colleges, covering secondary vocational, higher vocational and undergraduate education. The competition is divided into three parts: theoretical assessment, tour guide explanation and talent show. The tour guide's explanation (on-the-spot) includes two parts: scenic spot explanation and topic explanation. In particular, the special topic explanation requires the contestants to take questions on the spot and explain the basic concepts and key points in the tourism resources such as Chinese intangible cultural heritage, Chinese ancient buildings, gardens, religions, ethnic customs, catering culture, history and culture, local scenery and specialty. The topic explanation mainly tests the contestants' ability to collect and summarize information, on-site language organization and oral ability, and on-the-spot adaptability, which puts forward comprehensive requirements and challenges for the contestants.
