The students win the first prize in the national finals of the 5th "PEAK TIME" Hotel Management Simulation Contest

The national finals of the 5th PEAK TIME Hotel Management Simulation Contest came to an end recently. The Qinzhen Lingya team composed of Gu Wenxuan, Si Han, sun Yafei and Du Yawen from the Dept. of Hotel Management won the first prize in the competition, becoming the only representative team of higher vocational college to win this honor among the 48 finals.

This competition is jointly sponsored by CESIM, a business simulation platform, and Beijing International Studies University. 712 teams from 102 universities took part in the competition including three stages: preliminary, semi-finals and finals, which lasted for 2 months. After careful preparation, we sent 7 teams to participate in the competition and won 1 first prize and 5 third prize.

Through the way of promoting teaching by competition and learning by competition, the competition carried out diversified experimental teaching contents, deeply integrated theory and practice teaching, mobilized students' learning initiative and enthusiasm. And the competition effectively stimulated students' potential, cultivated cooperative spirit and also improved students' ability to discover, put forward and solve problems.

The award is a phased achievement of the Double high-level program. In the future talent training, the college will continue to be student-centered, actively innovate, and strive to build the professional group of hotel management into a national benchmark.

About “PEAK TIME“ Hotel Management Simulation Contest 

PEAK TIME” is originated from a world-famous business simulation competition launched by Finland. Since its introduction into China in 2008, it has successfully held 11 national contests, becoming a well-known international business simulation contest in China, attracting many national first-class universities including Tsinghua University, Peking University, Fudan University, Zhongshan University, etc. Nearly 150 colleges and universities all over the country, with tens of thousands of students participate in the contest. And Hotel Management Simulation Contest is derived on this basis.

PEAK TIME“ Hotel Management Simulation Contest uses the “Hospitality” hotel management simulation platform developed by CESIM of Finland to simulate and operate an international hotel as a senior manager of the hotel, aiming to improve the team cooperation ability and decision-making management ability of the participants and break the barrier of theory and practice. It focuses on the comprehensive abilities of the players in the hotel management, including market environment judgment, sales strategy, revenue management, cost control, staffing and three financial statement analysis.
