Gao chengongming, executive president of Kyoto Seizan College, and his delegation came to our school for an exchange and demonstrated ikebana,a Japanese traditional flower art, on the morning of November 14. Vice president Wang Jianbao and Zhou Li, director of International Office attended the activity.
At the beginning of ikebana, Benzhuang Zhenli, Japanese lecturer of Kyoto Seizan College,briefly introduced the development history of Japanese ikebana and the spirit conveyed by ikebana. According to the techniques and characteristics of ikebana, it is mainly divided into three schools. The Japanese ikebana mainly uses the original growth style of flower materials to show the vigorous vitality of plants. Later, using seasonal flowers such as sunflower, Daisy, pompon mum and Gypsophila paniculata. Benzhuang performed the operation steps of free-style flower art and the appreciation points of flower works and showed the Japanese flower culture for the students. After the show of ikebana, Japan conducted an on-site interview for the students who are going to study in Japan next semester.
During the visit, the guests also held talks with Wang Jianbao and discussed the feasibility of increasing the exchange students and short-term cultural experience in Japan on the basis of current cooperation between the two sides.
This activity deepened our students' understanding of Japanese ikebana, promoted the cultural exchange between China and Japan, and was conducive to the improvement of our students' humanistic quality.
