Master Li Peiyu's Apprenticeship Ceremony is held at QVTCHM

Master Li Peiyu's apprenticeship ceremony was held in the training center of the Department of Tourism and Hotel Management on December 6. Jicheng and Ding Delong of the department of Culinary Arts paid homage to Li Peiyu and formed a teacher-apprentice relationship, which opened a new chapter of integration and education between the profession and the college in teachers’ training. Some leaders including Yu Min, Gong Enlong, Wang Jianming, Shi Zengye, some teachers and students attended the ceremony.

Yu Min, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of QVTCHM, pointed out that this activity was an innovative mode of teacher-training in the construction of a high-quality college, which inherits the tradition of teacher-apprentice relationship in Culinary Specialty and combines it with the training project of young teachers. It is hoped that teachers and apprentices can unite and achieve good results, truly transform the achievements of inheritance of teachers and apprentices' morality and art into education and teaching, cultivate more culinary elites and create a model for vocational education in our college. Gong Enlong, vice president of QVTCHM presented a memorial gift to Master Li Peiyu on behalf of our college.

At the beginning of the ceremony, Li Peiyu sat in his chair and accepted Ji Cheng and Ding Delong's tea salute. He presented his calligraphy and paintings to the college and his disciples. Li Peiyu thanked the college for the opportunity to accept high apprenticeship and provided two outstanding apprentices of chef teachers for catering industry. The teacher-worship ceremony is not only a demonstration of the characteristics of the institute, but also a continuation of the relationship between himself and the college. The young chefs should inherit and carry forward the culinary tradition, and strives to improve his skills, so as to contribute to the cause of Chinese cooking. Ji Cheng and Ding Delong made statements respectively.

Li Peiyu has been engaged in cooking industry for more than 40 years. His career began at Luying Hotel of Jinan Air Force. He is a renowned Chinese culinary master with rich experience, excellent skills and both virtues and arts.

The major of cooking technology and nutrition is the traditional brand specialty of our college with a history of 60 years. The department of Culinary Arts is well known as the cradle of skilled chefs who are good at Shandong Cuisine. The department will take this apprenticeship ceremony as an opportunity to prosper China's culinary arts, practice the modern apprenticeship system, and build the first-class domestic and internationally renowned professional brand.
