The 2023 Qingdao Tourism Service (Hotel) Skills Competition, hosted by the Propaganda Department of the Municipal Party Committee and the Qingdao Bureau of Culture and Tourism, and undertaken by the University, was held in our school on 14th December.
More than 70 contestants from 22 hotels in the city competed in four events, namely Chinese Banquet Setting, Western Banquet Setting, Chinese Bed Making and Front Office Reception.
The competition included on-site professional skills and appearance display, mainly examining the players' proficiency, standardisation, innovation and personalised service application and professionalism.
The school attaches great importance to the hosting of this competition. As the Demonstration Discipline of Performance Evaluation and Industry-Teaching Integration in Qingdao Colleges to Serve Local Dynamics, the hotel management and digital operation programme undertook the standard-setting of the four items of the Competition, which comprehensively dovetailed with the relevant standards of National Tourism Industry Hotel Service Skills Competition of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism.
Guo Shuang, Deputy Director of Qingdao Culture and Tourism Bureau, Zhang Zongguo, Vice President of the college and relevant personnel attended the event.
