We achieve great results in China-ASEAN Culinary Skills Competition for Vocational College Students

The 2023 China-ASEAN Culinary Skills Competition for Vocational College Students was held in Nanning from September 14th to 16th.

The competition was hosted by the Department of Education of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region and the Hong Kong Vocational Training Council, and organized by Nanning Vocational College of Technology and the Guangxi-Hong Kong Modern Vocational Education Development Center. Our students performed well and won one first prize and three second prizes in the individual competitions, and school teacher Yao Hengzhe was honored as an excellent instructor.

A total of 110 competitors from 22 undergraduate and higher vocational colleges and universities in Mainland China, Hong Kong Special Administrative Region and ASEAN countries participated in the competition in four categories, including Chinese cooking, Western cooking, food carving and cold plating, and innovative pastry, etc. Our students achieved excellent results.

  • Tan Yaxin won the first prize of innovative pastry.

  • Liu Tianhe won the second prize of Chinese cooking.

  • Zhang Ziqi won the second prize of food carving and cold piecing.

  • Yang Mingrui won the second prize of western cooking.

The awards of this competition fully demonstrated the excellent style of our students, showed the results of the construction of the Double High-level Program and education and teaching reform of the school's culinary arts, and further improved the professional recognition and international influence of culinary talent training.
