The National Vocational Students Skills Competition is held at the college

The Hotel Service Event of National Vocational Students Skills Competition was held at the college on September 4th, and it’s organized by the Ministry of Education and 36 other departments, commenced at our college.

Jiang Yupeng, president of the college, presided over the opening ceremony.

Li Da, the secretary of the college Party Committee, delivered a welcome speech.

Cui Yuze, the Deputy Director of the Vocational Education Department of the Shandong Provincial Department of Education, delivered a speech.

During the opening ceremony, the participants and referee representatives took the oath. Chen Xinhua, the Vice Director of the Competition Committee and President of the China Hotel Association, announced the official start of the competition.

In attendance at the opening ceremony were Zhang Jingfu, the head of the Competition Supervision and Arbitration Group and Vice President of the China Hotel Association; Zhao Xiaofang, the head of the Competition Expert Working Group and a professor from Chongqing Business Vocational College; Hu Xiao, the chief referee of the competition and a professor from Yunnan University of Finance and Economics; team leaders from various provinces and autonomous regions, as well as participants and instructors from 62 participating colleges across the country.

The competition is a team event consisting of three modules: Front Office Reception, Chinese Food Service, and Western Food Service. The Front Office Reception module includes procedures for check-in, check-out, and handling complaints or emergencies. The Chinese Food Service module involves designing themed banquets and providing banquet services. The Western Food Service module focuses on casual dining restaurant services.

The competition covers core skills in hotel management and digital operations within the broader field of tourism. It reflects the personalized service, information-based operations, and international trends in modern hotels, emphasizing standardization, realism, process orientation, personalization, and professionalism in hotel work requirements.

Over the course of four days, participants will showcase their overall comprehensive and adaptability skills in hotel service, adhering to the principles of drawing on international standards, highlighting Chinese characteristics, being close to actual production, and reflecting work processes.

It is a nationwide event initiated and led by the Ministry of Education. It is co-organized by relevant departments, industry organizations, people's organizations, academic organizations, and local authorities. The competition aims to promote fairness, quality, efficiency, and integrity, foster comprehensive student development through the integration of work, curriculum, contest, and certification, and harness the leading and exemplary role of the competition in teaching. It also aims to cultivate more high-quality technical and skilled talents and foster exceptional craftsmanship in those fields.
