From April 29 to 30, the 14th Sports Meeting was held in our stadium. Li Da, Party Secretary, and other college leaders attended the opening and closing ceremonies of the Games.
At the opening ceremony, accompanied by the powerful Athletes March, the teams marched neatly and vigorously, shouted loud slogans, and walked across the rostrum with great enthusiasm, accepting the review of the leaders, teachers and students of our college.
Li Da made a speech at the opening ceremony. First of all, he warmly congratulated the opening of the Games and expressed heartfelt thanks to the teachers and students who had worked hard to prepare for the Games. He said that sport carries the dream of national prosperity and revitalization. He stressed that since the Eighteenth National Congress of the CPC, the CPC Central Committee, with President Xi Jinping as its core, has attached great importance to the work of sports, promoted the comprehensive development of mass sports and competitive sports, and promoted the deep integration of national fitness and national health. In 2018, the College carried out a wide range of diverse and colorful mass sports activities, and achieved new sports achievements. He hoped that by holding the games, we could create a good sports atmosphere, further stimulate the enthusiasm and work enthusiasm of teachers and students, and devote ourselves to the construction of high-quality colleges in a harmonious and healthy spiritual state.
Li Da declared the opening of the Games, and the cheers rang throughout the audience. The students from our college brought a wonderful group calisthenics performance, showing a positive spirit.
After the opening ceremony, the sports competition began.
After a day and a half of fierce competition, at noon on April 30, the 14th Sports Meeting completed all the scheduled events and held a grand closing ceremony.
Li Da spoke at the closing ceremony. On behalf of the Organizing Committee of the Congress, he warmly congratulated the groups and individuals who had achieved excellent results, the collectives who had won the spiritual civilization prize, and the coaches, referees and staff who had worked hard for the success of the Games. During the Games, the teams abide by the rules, obey the judges, learn from each other and improve together. All departments actively organized students to participate in the games, cheer for athletes and fully demonstrate the good spiritual outlook of our teachers and students. He sincerely hoped that the teachers and students would devote their enthusiasm and spirit inspired by the Games to their future work and study, and jointly welcome the better future of the college.
At the closing ceremony, Xia Fei, the president of the Games, announced the total score of the competition group. The Department of Business Administration, the Department of Tourism and Hotel Management and the Department of Hotel Engineering were among the top three in the total score of the student group, and the Department of Basic Knowledge and Political Affairs, the Second Administrative Team and the Department of Tourism and Hotel Management were among the top three in the total score of the teaching group. The Department of Hotel Management, the Department of Information Engineering and the Department of Hotel Engineering have won the spiritual civilization award of the Student Group, and the Department of Hotel Engineering and the Department of Art have won the spiritual civilization award of the Teachers' Group. The leaders awarded the golden banner to the top three winners of the total score of the sports competition group and the spiritual civilization prize.
It is reported that nearly 1800 people participated in more than 40 events in the Games, and more than 800 people won individual and collective awards.
