A group of 18 young Taiwanese students from Shandong Research Group came to visit our college on December 18. This research group is composed of students from Far East University of Science and Technology, Yishou University, Kunshan University of Science and Technology and other universities in Taiwan province. Since December 2015,this is the fifth time that we’ve received students from the Mainland Research Group of Taiwanese Youth Students with the theme “The Inheritance of Chinese Civilization”.

Diao Hongbin, Vice President of QVTCHM, and Shi Meishan, Vice Dean of the Department of Tourism and Hotel Management, attended the welcoming ceremony. Mr.Diao warmly welcomed Taiwan Research Group and introduced the development of “The Inheritance of Chinese Civilization” activities here in recent years, the current situation and the foreign exchange of our college. He hoped that students could experience the vocational education of the mainland, jointly promote cross-strait cultural communication, and become the youth envoys of cross-strait cultural exchange. Liu Anjing from Yishou University made a speech on behalf of all the students. He thanked the college for its warm reception and expressed that he would cherish the opportunity to exchange information, gain a better understanding of the vocational education in mainland China and establish a good communication with our students.

During the visit, the delegation visited the training center of the Department of Tourism and Hotel Management and the teaching building of the Department of Culinary Arts. The students of the research group have a deep impression on our outstanding achievements, the great awards of competitions, the perfect training facilities and the interesting classroom teaching activities. In a short period of time, the students who will study in Taiwan as exchange students next semester had a friendly talk with the Taiwanese students.

It has been six years since Taiwanese students come to the mainland to carry out research activities. As a representative of Shandong tourism colleges, our college enjoys a high reputation in Taiwan province and has become one of the major institutions visited by Taiwanese students. Since 2015, we have received a total of 282 teachers and students from five research groups. The cross-strait youth exchange activities make Taiwan students personally witness the splendid Chinese history and culture and the rapid development of the mainland, enhance the recognition of the concept of one family on both sides of the Taiwan Strait, and will further promote Chinese culture.
