Two teachers win gold medals in the 1st National Celebrity Chef Skills Contest of Shandong Cuisine

The 1st National Celebrity Chef Skills Contest of Shandong Cuisine jointly organized by the Chinese Culinary Association and other eight units ended in Weihai on May 15. JiCheng of the Dept. of Culinary Arts was awarded the golden prize and the Most Promotional Value Award for Chinese cooking projects, while Wang Hetao was awarded the silver prize for Chinese cooking projects.

The competition was held at Wendeng Technician College of Weihai City, under the guidance of Shandong Provincial Human Resources Social Security Department. The competition brought together 136 famous Shandong cuisine chefs from 8 provinces and cities in China, including Beijing, Shandong and Anhui. Gao Bingyi, Vice President of the Association and Chairman of the Celebrity Chef Committee, served as President of the Competition.

As an important part of the activity, the competition takes the form of theoretical examination and skill competition, which consists of two items: Chinese cooking and pastry. Ji Cheng and Wang He Tao of our college actively prepared for and calmly responded to the Chinese cooking competition. They won the gold and silver prizes respectively. Ji Cheng's dish fried fish shreds was awarded the Most Promotional Value Award.

Through the competition, our teachers showed their solid skills and good spiritual outlook. Inheriting the history of Shandong cuisine, pioneering and innovating, young chefs can make Shandong cuisine popular in China and the world.
