Our delegation attends the unveiling ceremony of the sister campus of TAFE SA

Vice President Diao Hongbin and his delegation visited Australia for exchanges, attended the unveiling ceremony of the sister campus of TAFE SA and the seminar of Sino-foreign cooperation in running schools from Nov. 27-30. During the visit, Mr. Diao also visited William Angles College and our teachers who are receiving training there.

On the morning of the 28th, the unveiling ceremony was held at Regency Campus of TAFE SA. Alex Reid, President of TAFE SA, Brett Mahoney, Vice-President, Laura Jia, Director of Global Strategic Development, and Greg, Representative of the South Australian Government were invited to attend the unveiling ceremony. At the beginning of the ceremony, Ms. Alex Reid and Mr. Diao Hongbin delivered speeches on behalf of the two colleges and they jointly unveiled the plaque of the sister campus. Under the background of the cooperation between Shandong Province and states of the South Australian Government, QVTCHM and TAFE SA initiated the cooperation. The two colleges formally signed the sister school agreement in Jinan and set up the sister campus this July. The unveiling ceremony symbolized the closer ties between the two colleges. The two sides will take advantage of this opportunity to promote bilateral cooperation and exchanges in an all-round way.

During the exchange, the two sides held fruitful talks on Sino-foreign cooperative school-running seminars, international strategic development exchanges, and training teachers’ seminars in TAFE SA. They also held effective talks on the recruitment, publicity, English teaching, students' short-term cultural exchange experience, the establishment of Australian TAE training base at QVTCHM, and plans of teachers’ study in TAFE SA next semester. In addition, the delegation visited Hospitality Management School, Blue Belt Cooking School, student dormitory, Student Service Center in the Regency Campus. And they also visited School of Business and Art School in City Campus and School of Engineering in Tonsley Campus and South Australia. During the visit, we learned about the Australian vocational education model, detailed assessment methods and the school's great training facilities.

During the visit in Australia, our delegation also visited William Angles College, where Nicholas Hunt, CEO of the college, and Jim Irwin, international strategic development manager, met with the members of the delegation enthusiastically. The two sides made progress on future teacher training and student exchanges. Accompanied by Nicholas Hunter, the delegation visited the teaching and training sites and student service centers, through which we had a better understanding of its professional advantages and characteristics.

The visit to Australia laid a solid foundation for further cooperation and exchanges between our college and two friendly institutes in Australia. With the establishment of the sister campus of TAFE SA, we will further promote the construction of high-quality schools and international cooperation.
